CAMEROON
Cameroon and the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) first joined forces to fight malaria in 2017, making it one of the program’s newest focus countries. Cameroon ranks among the ten highest malaria burden countries in sub-Saharan Africa, with the entire population of approximately 28 million people at risk of malaria. From 2013-2017, Cameroon increased domestic funding for malaria by 400%, reaching almost $9 million in 2017. As part of its effort to end malaria, Cameroon is focused on prevention, case management, communication, training and research, monitoring and evaluation and program management.
