The President’s Malaria Initiative and Senegal teamed up to reduce malaria’s burden on Senegal’s citizens and health system starting in 2007. Since then, Senegal’s malaria cases dropped by 53% and malaria deaths declined by 26%. These gains set Senegal on the path to eliminate this disease. Outstanding leadership and partner engagement, high intervention coverage levels and a thriving data culture all are contributing to Senegal’s success combatting malaria.
