ZAMBIA

The U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) and Zambia teamed up with partners to reduce malaria’s burden on the country’s citizens and health system starting in 2008. Since then, Zambia’s malaria cases dropped by 30% and malaria deaths declined by nearly 25%. In 2017, after achieving almost zero malaria cases in its Southern Province, Zambia set its sights on an ambitious new goal: ending malaria ahead of its 2030 timeline.
